The Capital Beat – Feel The Reggae

The Capital Beat

Let’s see, autumn in Finland: Dark long days? Quietness? Depressing nights? Suicidal behaviour? No way, those gloomy thoughts are not happening when The Capital Beat bring their rhythm. The eight-piece orchestra has felt the reggae and done the ska since 2007, taking Jamaican music to a new latitude. The band just released their long-awaited first full-length, A Greater Fire, and here is a song off that album. Can you feel it?

Cats on Fire: Tears In Your Cup

The autumn season has just started so it is a good time to remember one of those albums that feel just right for a rainy day. Earlier this year, Cats on Fire released their second full length album Our Temperance Movement, which includes a bunch of bittersweet lyrics and melancholic pop melodies that perfectly fit with the season.

Kaspar – Phoenix

KasparKaspar went all the way to Kingston, New York, very close to Woodstock, to record with American producer Malcolm Burn their debut album, which is inspired by the enigma of Kaspar Hauser, a 19th century German foundling who after 15 years of total isolation in darkness became a symbol of empathy and forgiveness after his mysterious appearance in Nurenberg in 1828. She just wants to have fun

astrid_swanA few months ago, we had the opportunity of hearing the first single off Astrid Swan’s new album. After a dramatic and emotionally charged second album (Spartan Picnic, 2008), Better Than Wages is a fun collection of pop songs that tell everyday life stories.

Right before rehearsing with her new band, The Drunk Lovers, we met the singer who told us about these new songs and how stubbornly she has always pursued to play all around the world. Continue reading
