Kiki Pau – Luola

Kiki Pau‘s White Mountain was one of my favourite albums back in 2010. It was a nice compilation of well-constructed songs, with catchy pop melodies and a nice touch of classic rock. After a long wait, today I read the news that come June and the band will release their third full-length, which will be self-released digitally. As a sign of what might come in a few weeks, the band has released a long jam recorded last summer. Better to listen to it late at night.

Phantom – Scars

Chances are that you already watch this video on any other blog, but it is so cool that I can’t help posting it myself. Electric duo Phantom were formed a few months ago, but they are quickly positioning itself as the next big thing out of Helsinki thanks to a fashionable image and an attractive video debuted at SXSW. Musically, Scars is moody pop song of intriguing textures with a jazzy twist. Watch the video below and do not forget to check the whole EP on the band’s soundcloud.

Stache – Game On

From the northern city of Oulu indie pop outfit Stache hit the Glue mailbox with the funky sounds of their latest release Game On. Led by a a cool bass line, a catchy guitar riff and collective vocals, this is a let’s-get-the-party-started tune, which I hope it will sweeten the back to work feeling. If you like the song, go to the band’s website for more funk-soul-pop vibes.
